Salons added to Spa Defined?

Hmmmm....I've gotten a handful of requests to add salon spas to Spa Defined. The primary business/focus of a salon spa is NOT the spa, but the salon. One of the things I love about Spa Defined is that it is JUST spas or people providing spa treatments. Any comments out there regarding this? Perhaps I can add a link for "Salon Spas" or just do a completely separate website/page? An example of a Salon Spa would be Walter Claudio, Darin Jon, Peace Salon. Some of the spas on my site have salons, but it's not their primary focus -- places like Avia and Bellezza Vita. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Take a drive Solvang -- it's worth it!

Recently I visited to one of my favorite little places -- Enchante in Solvang. It's just the cutest place and the atmosphere with well, sort of like in the movie "Steel Magnolias!" Upon arrival I got a warm homemade scone...it was just so divine; I love this little cottage. Deb gave me a sample of QTickles cuticle oil made with rose oil -- it's lovely. We did a photoshoot while we were there and I am hoping to had them to Spa Defined soon!

New spas will be added!

Make sure to check Spa Defined often -- in the past week, Rick and I have done a few more photo shoots with Amara Spa by the Sea in Summerland, Peaches Skin Care and Enchante in Solvang. Each one has so much character and charm -- they are great little places to indulge!

Facial Acupuncture

Julia Dubiel, a licensed acupuncturist, and myself did a facial acupuncture demonstration at the SBCC esthetician school. Although estheticians can't do acupuncture on their clients, I think it's helpful for them to know about it and how it works so that they may refer their clients to acupuncturists for this treatment. It's very helpful in healing acne and just overall balancing. We are going again tomorrow morning for another demo and I'm looking forward to the relaxation!

I Graduated!

I am so excited that I have finished my esthetician training and 600 hour requirement! Whew! One of the best parts of being in the program was meeting and getting to know my classmates -- Katy, Melissa, Kong, Maggie, Monica and Jessica. They are such amazing, fun-loving women (and awesome estheticians!). I have been in evening classes since August -- I'm so happy to have my evenings free again!
